Most readers aren’t aware of the manipulative nature of statistical data, and journalists / reporters, who we assume should have an obligation to uphold intellectual integrity, abuse statistics without a second thought through either wilful or unintended ignorance.

The actual report says that of emissions originating from 224 companies, 71% come from the top 100 while 29% come from the bottom 124.
